Frankfurt based designer, Daniel Wilhelm’s latest Y3 concept, inspired by pleating fabrics, is a super interesting mix of intricate tooling, with some type of cables/lacing incorporated into the heel, a multi-layered microfibre upper and a pretty aggressive looking last silhouette.
The idea being that the ‘non-techy’ upper material, ‘lives’ and moves with your foot. With each stride the material would stretch to reveal an elasticated gradient layer beneath the laser patterned microfibre outer shell.
