Vinicius Longo – Adidas Biomecanik Concept

Heres another great football boot concept, this time from Brazilian designer, Vinicius Longo. With a great deal of research development, expressive sketches and overall good understanding of bio-mechanics, Vinicius creates some super clean, great looking final concepts.

Can you tell us a little about yourself?

I’m a product designer graduated in December 2011 at FAAP (Fundação Armando Alvares Penteado), and this project was my graduation project.
During my last two years at the college I’ve worked as intern at Domus Design, a Brazilian product design studio, there I’ve started to learn more about product design itself.
As a typical Brazilian guy I´ve always enjoy playing and watching soccer, and now Brazil will be hosting the FIFA World Cup (2014) I´ve decided to design a new concept of soccer cleats.

What inspired this concept?

My inspiration for this project was the great attention that soccer athlets have, and how the fans and the club concern about their health. So i asked myself: Why not make a concept that protects the athlet´s health?

What is your favorite feature of this project?

My favorite feature about this project is all the research that I’ve done on bio-mechanics, physiology, soccer rules, soccer movements and how that influence the soccer game. I read a lot of books about this subject to support my concept.

Check out the development of the concept, below.
