The Inspiring Work of Alex Piers Blackman

Alex Piers Blackman is always seemingly working on something super intriguing, at-least according to his instagram account. Needles to say, it’s always great seeing designers getting their hands a bit dirty and making their own samples, especially when they’re as different and though-provoking as these. Understanding how a shoe is actually constructed allows you to question current development methods, which can ultimately lead to trying out and creating some truly different/innovative concepts.

Never afraid to mix up development techniques, in his recent samples we’ve seen everything from laser cut patterns to hand woven/ braided mesh and modular toe pieces. Alex really doesn’t hold back on experimenting with very different techniques and pulling them all together into a singular concept.
