The Initial Design Of New Balance’s ‘Shandal’

New Balance Footwear Designer, Trey Williams recently shared some of the initial inspiration and renderings of New Balance’s latest silhouette, the ‘Shandal’.

“My 1st design is in the wild! The @newbalance Shandal dropped yesterday and I’m geeked! Crazy comfortable and open to let things breathe.” – Trey Williams

Half sneaker, half sandal, the upper features a mixture of mesh / synthetics and translucent TPE with a strap system that wraps over the top of the sneaker/sandal for fastening.
