Everyone in the design community understands how brilliant (and incredibly annoying) the swoosh symbol is. You could literally put a swoosh on a pair of knee high, orthopaedic, wool lined, wellington boots and they’d look 100x doper, instantly.
Graphic designer, Brian Kennedy decided to see how the removal of the swoosh would effect the aesthetics of some of Nike’s signature styles. I just love how simple, yet impactful this line of thinking is. I think the examples below show decently how the swoosh’s impact effect design language, but there are probably even better examples, the more simple types of styles they have for instance. Would a Roshe be as hot sans swoosh? Cortez? Probably, but it would be interesting.
