SLEM x RISD | Netherlands Sneaker + Wearable Technology (Video)

Here’s another quick look at the super inspiring work being done by a handful of RISD students currently taking a wearable tech course at SLEM.

2D design is just one (very important) facet of footwear design, however being able to create your own matrix patterns, cut the patterns correctly, pick the right last, also an integral part of the process and really helps you to visualize your design from every angle.

Before getting technical, the students had to make their sneakers in a more traditional way. The video below is a quick look at some of the process that went into the creation of their shoes.

    Hey Guys,

I’m super interested in giving this a try to help me with my designs but even more so my knowledge of patterning. I have most of the tools I saw in your video, but I don’t know where to get the outsole. Could you help and let me know where to look?

    I appreciate the help!
