Reebok ZPump Rise | Jeremy Sallee

Reebok footwear designer, Jeremy Sallee was kind enough to dig around in his iPad to get a couple initial sketches for the ZPump Rise.

Marking Reebok’s first foray into Basketball sneakers for quite some time, they’ve came back with a nice little bang with a distinctive new model. All while still incorporating some important ‘Reebok’ness’ in the design language to keep it in-line with their current aesthetic. Combining ‘the Pump’ functionality with a fully no-sew, printed upper, and a chunky, faceted midsole, the shoe’s give a nod back to Reebok’s rich heritage, while using sleek design language and modern construction techniques to enable them to compete in a highly competitive performance market. The shoe’s consist of 3 major parts; the fusion compression sleeve, an internal mesh bootie and a fully customizable Pump Air-Cage.

The unique, chunky-ish silhouette and sole unit work very well together, and the printed upper combined with the no-sew construction creates a smooth, yet aggressive aesthetic. Overall I can imagine these must be super comfortable to play in. I’m looking forward to seeing how Jeremy and Reebok build on this concept in the future.
