In this latest video from Nike Golf, Tobie Hatfield tells about some of the design process that went into their Nike TW15 signature golf shoe for, Tiger Woods. Of course, with Nike there’s going to be a plethora of awesomely cool sounding technology infused into the shoes. From Flyweave, a flex groove, Free inspired outsole and dynamic wire providing enhanced stability at the mid-foot, their packed full of tech.
One thing Nike will also do however, above everything else, is create cool looking (and sounding) ish. I mean the design & execution is off the charts. Whether the technology actually helps the athlete or not (and i’m sure it does to some extent), it sure does looks pretty. Ever since Tinker decided to create a window in the midsole of an Air Max to show the air bubble, Nike’s been doing an amazing job of allowing it’s technical innovations drive it’s aesthetic. These TW15’s are a perfect example of that.
Below, Tobie gives us some insight into how and why they decided to put these innovations into their latest sig shoe for Tiger.
