Nike Lunar Relic Concept by Thomas Le

Ever wondered what would happen if Bill Bowerman travelled to the present day, saw what innovative technology Nike was incorporating into their footwear, then travelled back and had to try and mimic that tech with the materials available to him back in the day? Nah, me either. But, luckily for us, Thomas Le has.

Experimenting with different weaving techniques, Thomas played around and essentially created a raw-edge leather upper with leather laced Flywire.

“(This project was) basically an exploration of modern upper technology(Flywire/Magwire) and how that could be interpreted with old methods of making such as weaving/braiding leather lace on a leather upper.” – Thomas
