Nike Air Yeezy 2 – Nathan VanHook

With the massive media storm & fan frenzy that these shoes have created, i was debating on waiting a little longer to post about these Yeezy 2’s, but I think the initial craze has somewhat died down and we can actually appreciate the shoe for what it is, outside of just being a Kanye West signature shoe.

Collaboratively designed by Nathan VanHook & Kanye, the shoe was a “collaborative project that started when Kanye West was working on his, “My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy” album and wrapped up while he was working on “Watch The Throne” with Jay-Z. Forging a new form of sport craftsmanship, the Nike Air Yeezy II blends classic Nike court breakthroughs with performance and an obsessive approach to materials and detailing. Futuristic craft meets animalistic form.” – Nathan.

The amount of detail on the shoe is pretty astonishing, from the lush anaconda side panel to an inscribed lace toggle & perforated & embossed tongue logos, the level of finish on the shoe is pretty impressive (the shoe obviously went through a ton of sampling rounds). “The anaconda side panel, the articulated tongue, the inscribed lace toggle – everything was truly overlooked by (Kanye), crafted specifically for him” – Nathan.

I’m sure we can all agree that Nathan did a great job on these, you can find out more from Nathan about his process in designing the crazy amount of legendary sneakers he’s been involved with in his interview with TheHue.
