Kalenji ELIOPRIME 2015 by Benjamin Pauchet & Mathieu Chauvet

French footwear designer Benjamin Pauchet always delivers beautifully laid out projects detailing the design process behind his concepts. Below we get a look at some of the initial thumbnail renders, the outsole CAD’s by Mathieu Chauvet and a few renderings of a very well executed 3D model of the Kalenji ‘ELIOPRIME’.

I’m usually quite picky when it comes to showcasing 3D modeled footwear, as generally you can tell the designer was constrained by their skill in the program and the model doesn’t look quite right. When a model is this good though, and you can easily see that the designer truly has the ability to execute their vision 100%, it’s really a quite a beautiful thing. Not to mention a brilliant method of showcasing and seeing your design from every conceivable angle, as you can see from below.
