“ICARUS-4” Space Sneaker Concept

This ‘space sneaker’ concept, entitled “ICARUS-4” was created by film & motion director, Denis Agarkov. The concept was designed for ‘conditions of zero gravity for astronauts in order to provide maximum flexibility during minor hull repairs and allows for tetherless operation‘.

“This concept was developed as part of a character design for a CG film we currently have in development at SUPERLUMINAL. I took on this project as a way to practice and learn all aspects of asset development and modeled, unwrapped, textured and rendered the design. A special thanks goes out to Stefan Van Der Sandt who showed me around Substance Painter.” – Denis Agarkov

Process:

Cinema 4D for modeling hi and low poly versions
Unwrapping in Maya and Unfold
3d Texturing in Substance Painter
Rendering in Redshift (C4D)
Compositing in After Effects
