Highsnobiety Gives Us An Exclusive Look Inside Li-Ning’s Beijing HQ

“Li-Ning has found a solid footing by rebranding national nostalgia. As for the Western market, Li-Ning has everything to win and little to lose.” – Highsnobiety/Ross Adrian Yip

Roaming journalist and sneaker aficionado, Ross Adrian Yip recently shared an article that he’d put together for Highsnobiety, giving us a look inside Li-Ning, a brand that has been making quite a bit of noise as of late with their latest and super progressive collection that they debuted this past fashion week.

In the article Ross details the beginnings of the eponymous label from the former Olympic gymnast, Li-Ning, as well sharing some insight footwear design team and key consultant Liad Krispin about the current state of the brand and what the future is looking like.

“Before joining Li-Ning in 2017, Krispin worked at adidas for 14 years and was instrumental to premium collaborations with Yohji Yamamoto, Raf Simons, and Kanye West. “I think the heritage, coming from a place like China, which is not so well known and a place that has been constantly transforming as a nation, is quite interesting,” he told WWD last year. “Today, it’s more interesting than European or American nostalgia or heritage that we already know.” – Via Highsnobiety/Ross Adrian Yip
