Fila Sketches: Adrien Noirhomme
Adrien Noirhomme did up some of these amazing sketches during his internship at Fila... The scary thought is, that was 2006. A lot of times when working digitally we tend to loose that carefree natural flow of drawing by hand. Adrien does a great job carrying over his sketches and really making things pop out with a little digital flair. This is a great example of touching things up with some large airbrush strokes (in photoshop) for the core shadows and then just a few nice highlights at the right spots. All put together really nicely without playing around with things so much and creating some sort of shading mud monster. 0
What do you think is the hardest part of taking your rough sketches into the pixel world and turning them into something that is not just presentable but HOT? On top of his great digital technique these sketches are dense! Some really great thought and exploration in there. One thing that has stuck with me about this set of sketches is just how clean and simple everything is. What really hits me with these is even with that level of clean problem solving simplicity the solutions are so fresh and different. 0
