FEIT continues to not only innovate, but also educate, with their latest release for A/W 16. This year, rather than a regular, static representation of their latest models, they’ve decided to showcase a film, “Man vs Machine” at the New Museum (NYC) on Feb. 3.
The film contrasts mass production imagery from the 1982 movie “Koyaanisqatsi,” with FEIT’s artisanal approach to producing footwear. To add to the films message and impact, there will be shoe’s being hand-sewn during the show, along with their fall 2016 collection being shown.
“We wanted to create the arc of a battle between these two modes of creation so that you feel the tension between the rote repetition of the industrial process versus the skill, beauty and attention to detail in Feit’s handcrafted approach.” – Director, Jack Riccobono
Below you can see a quick, behind-the-scenes look at the making of the film. To see the film when it releases you can either RSVP for the show to see it in person, or give your email address to receive the video once it’s been released, here.
