Designed by Brooklynite, Maria Sengle, this heel concept ‘is designed with versatility in mind, allowing the wearer to change the height of their shoes to fit a wider variety of occasions. Removable pegs near the toes and in the heel, as well as leather snap straps in the back, hold the pieces together securely’.
‘I came up with the concept when I was spending a semester in Germany. I needed shoes but was faced with limited suitcase space for my move back to Brooklyn. I wanted to design a versatile shoe, one shoe to fit a wider variety of situations.
my wearable prototype is made from vegan leather and wood. I’m quite busy finishing up my final semester of school and haven’t looked into the production just yet but hopefully something will come together. I’m looking to do footwear when I graduate and look forward to further exploration of this concept.’ – Maria
