HYPEBEAST just posted an article dissecting LeBron’s first signature shoe from Nike, the Air Zoom Generation.
They also shared some of the initial sketches and samples behind the design & development of one of my personal LeBron models to-date. The shoe was rugged and sporty, yet still remained pretty clean, something we don’t really see too much of in Basketball shoes at the moment. I can already see this shoe becoming a big retro release for Nike and LeBron for many years to come, as it’s a style that translates well off-court.
“Combining the genius minds of Tinker Hatfield, Eric Avar and Aaron Cooper, the Nike Air Zoom Generation’s blueprint lays on the foundation of comfort. Per LeBron’s request, comfort was a priority as its overall aesthetic followed suit. Looking at James as the modern day soldier of the basketball court, you’ll find the same materials found in Nike’s SFB Boot, which receives a military influence with materials such as leather and ballistic mesh.” – HYPEBEAST
