Conceptual Women’s Footwear by Iga Węglińska

This collection was released about a year ago by Polish designer, Iga Węglińska. Not only is the collection super inspiring from a form and aesthetic stand-point, but also because of a unique mixture of materials utilized during the fabricaion.

The project started by Iga 3D scanning a last, then using that scan as a base for CNC’ing and 3D printing her uniquly designed collection. She even collaborated with a chemist to create a custom elastic polymer that enabled her to stretch the limits of her shoe’s form and aesthetics.
In addition to the custom elastic polymer, a couple concepts utilize a composite of concerete and PLA plastic.
