BMW x PUMA X-Cat Disc Design Process (Video)

Puma recently announced their adaptation of one of BMW’s most innovative automobile projects, the 2008 GINA Light Visionary Concept Car.
A collaboration between Designworks and Puma the shoe utilizes a similar, laser cut “GINA” material used on the original concept car and also feature Puma’s proprietary DISC lacing system.

“The approach was to look at every aspect of making a shoe and to try and reimagine it. Freeing yourself of what is here now can be an enjoyable and rewarding exercise. Typically, it also speeds up change,” – Adrian van Hooydonk, Senior Vice President BMW Group Design.
