Mike Friton is a legend in athletic footwear; the designer with creations such as the Nike Presto and the Nike Woven in his portfolio, and one of the ingenious minds that brought the auto-lacing system from Back To The Future to reality. From March 23rd to 27th, the Polytechnic University of Hong Kong and SLEM-Waalwijk give 15 participants the opportunity to learn everything they need to know about athletic footwear innovation from this renowned footwear designer.
During this once in a lifetime opportunity Mike Friton will teach you how to develop an innovative footwear concept. This week-long workshop will involve creating a wearable prototype and applying dynamic materials. The workshop will also include methods for quicker 2D to 3D prototyping that come from Friton’s 30 years of experience in the footwear industry.
