Footwear designer Tom Weightman, created a series of small sided football boots inspired by the people and city that he raised him; London.
“I’m a London native, and I have lived here my entire life apart from one year which I spent in Nuremberg, Germany. Ever since I can remember I was playing football, in London, in my Arsenal kit and adidas Boots. So, this was a great chance for me to look back on my own experiences here and create three boots which span across the average playing years of an amateur player in London.” – Tom
Tom created a series of three concepts for specific groups of football players; The Young Enthusiast (children aged between 8-16 playing everyday), The Rush Hour Hero (a young(ish) business professional aged 18-35 playing a couple times a week) and The Keen Amateur (aged between 18-30 playing most days of the week).
You can see all three of the final concepts, with a detailed look at the initial ideation and research that went into them, below.
