adidas ‘RunTheGame’ | Erick Ikeda

Footwear designer, Erick Ikeda was asked to created a Basketball sneaker for the Chinese market while on his internship with adidas. They stipulated that it would have to be a mid-cut design, with quarter stripes that use the tooling from the ‘Crazy Street’. 50,000 pairs were to be produced, for around $65 a pop.

What I really love about this project (though, of course the shoe’s came out great), is the manner in which Erick displays the entire process of the project, from initial conception to shell packs and final samples.

Tbh, Erick’s done such a great job, that there’s not much I can really add that he hasn’t already detailed. So with that, make sure to check out his design and development story of the adi ‘RunTheGame’ Basketball sneakers, below (or head to his website).
