Adidas Originals ‘Los Angeles’ Initial Sketches & Development

The Adidas Originals’, ‘Los Angeles’ is a shoe based on the iconic, ‘L.A. Trainer’ the was released back in 1984. The project was spearheaded by designer, Arnau Sanjuan, with the aim of creating a shoe that embodied the original version, but had a more a modern aesthetic/functionality.

The goal was to keep elements from the adidas collective memory and giving a modern look to the new silhouette. The construction of the shoe helps to play the color blocking in many different ways and it’s a blank canvas to combine different materials.
The Continental rubber outsole shows an organic design linked to the original l.a.trainer sole unit. – Arnau
