adidas by Rick Owens Continues to Push Unique Silhouettes

Love or hate Rick Owens’ collab with adidas, one thing you have to respect is their continual defiance of conventional silhouettes.

Taking a little inspiration from the Ultra Boost with the kick at the heel, we see an almost geometric, sharp and bulbous toe, extremely long vamp and a tight, super exaggerated and puffy collar. The mixture between sharp and smooth on both styles creates a very real, visual agitation. The over lasted section at the front of the shoes is a nice touch too.

These aren’t something I myself could pull off, but I appreciate anyone pushing boundaries even a little bit, no matter how they choose to do it. With a slew of homogenous footwear currently on the market, all utilizing the same lasts and materials, it’s refreshing to see something of this scale venture a little off the beaten path.
